Seagrass is a grass cultivated and harvested annually from paddy fields which are flooded with seawater as the crop develops. Slightly waxy by nature, it is naturally stain resistant and easy to maintain. In its natural state, sea hay has a wild green tint that gradually turns, after a few months, to a soft tan.

The seagrass is woven from thousands of hand-twisted blades of grass thread. There are always flakes, shaggy strands that will fade over time, as well as knots all over the rug.

It is suitable for indoor temperature controlled areas. Not suitable for areas subject to humid conditions or high humidity. Seagrass will mold when exposed to these conditions. The sweeper is sufficient for general maintenance, as well as a wet mop. When a heavy wet stain occurs as a result of a spill or cleaning, use a hand dryer or fan to remove it. We also offer the Sisal-Care stain remover for natural rugs.
