Seagrass is a grass grown and harvested annually from rice fields that are flooded with seawater as the crop grows. Slightly waxy in nature, it is naturally stain resistant and easy to maintain. In its natural state, sea hay is a wild green hue which gradually turns, after a few months, to a soft tan.

Seagrass is woven from thousands of hand-twisted strands of grass yarn. There are always flakes, shaggy strands that will disappear over time, as well as knots all over the place.

It is suitable for indoor areas with controlled temperature. Not suitable for areas subjected to humid conditions or high humidity. Sea rush will mold when exposed to these conditions. The sweeper is sufficient for general maintenance, as well as a damp mop. When a heavy wet stain occurs due to a spill or cleaning, use a handheld hairdryer or a fan to make it disappear. We also offer the Sisal-Care stain remover for natural rugs.
